'Dhoom Dhadakka' looks like a racy comedy based on a story of good people in bad situations! Shashi Ranjan has produced as well as directed it with 18 actors participating in it. The film is basically about a don played by Anupam Kher who hunts for his waris (heir). Why? According to the story, Moongilal was a small time Bhai in Mumbai during the seventies.

He had a childhood friend named Jignesh (played by Satish Shah) who was his friend cum business advisor. When the authorities turn wild on the Bhais in Mumbai, Moongi and Jignesh flee to Bangkok and Moongilal becomes a don there.

The movie begins with the All Asian Bhai Meet with an agenda to discuss and assess the falling sensex of Bhaigiri in Asia! During the debate, a rival Don of Moongi's, Fursat Lala (played by Gulshan Grover) proposes a very ambitious plan for a piece of land in Alibagh and argues that in the business of Bhaigiri, a waris ( heir) is a must.

Since Moongi has no waris, the next man Fursat Lala should be made the new Don of Mumbai. Moongi gives an assurance that he has a better plan and that he even has a waris, who he will present later and seeks a month's time for this.

Nobody dares object to it because of his past record. Jignesh asks Moongilal as to why he has made a false statement that he has a waris, while he has not even married! Moongi reveals his noble plan to build a hospital on that land because in his childhood his father had died at that place for lack of medical aid.

And he doesn't want a casino there as proposed by the other don. Moongi and Jignesh find a letter of Moongi's estranged sister Angoori (Bhavana Balsawar) whom Moongilal had thrown out of his house because she wanted to marry a music teacher instead of a dreaded goon. Incidentally, a letter reveals that Angoori gave birth to Kamal.

This child, looks like Moongi (maternal uncle); he smiles like him and has a mole on his right thigh just like him. So, here at the 'Asian Bhai Meet' in Bangkok Godfather (a dazed Jackie Shroff in a wig) laments the lack of young blood in the business.

Mungi is thrilled and resolves to hunt his waris in Mumbai where he comes across a detective named Johnny English (played by (Satish Kaushik) who promises them to find Kamal, the waris, in 20 days! In return, Mungi promises to pay Rs five million to him if he finds Kamal for him.

Johnny English gets hold of an NRI (Sammir Dattani) to stake a claim to be Kamal. He would put across to Moongi that he just wants his dear mama (Moongi) to touch the ashes of his mother so that he can place them in Ganga, before he goes back to Canada. Johnny takes him to Bangkok but, to his shock, he finds another guy (Shaad Randhawa) there, who also claims to be Kamal.

To Johnny's horror, this new Kamal who is actually a struggling actor, used to live in his house in Mumbai as a paying guest. When Johnny tries to call his bluff, this sharpshooter convinces Moongi and Jignesh about the intimate details that could only have been known to his supposed mother Angoori (Moongi's sister).

In the midst of this confusion, Shivani (Aarti Chhabria) claims to be the real Kamal (Kamal being the common gender name) since the letter didn't mention the gender. A confused Moongi asks all of them to stay in the house till he arrives at a decision as to who the real Kamal is.

Then , enters the second girl Jiya (Shama Sikandar) in the scene claiming to be a girlfriend of the NRI Kamal. The Picture brought by her almost convinces everybody that the NRI Kamal is the real one.

One day Mungi compels the false claimants to confess that they are all impostors and are here to make quick money. They plan to run away with this old man's riches that night.

But while they are busy in stealing the money, they realize the truth that Mungi is not any old man, but a dreaded Don. From here starts the story as to how Moongi, makes all the claimants to act as his waris… how his rival Fursat Lala unveils the truth.

All this through hilarious scenes, though. This is interesting, indeed. However, Shashi hasn't maintained his earlier excellence despite his best selection of the cast.

While the female cast impresses the audience with their molten-hot looks and superbly styled outfits, accessories, make-up, the male cast though in plenty fails to charm, maybe some of them had no big role to perform such as Satish Kaushik and Satish Shah.

The music composed by music director, Roop Kumar Rathod, is excellent. Another highlight of the movie is its item number sensuously sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. This is a rollicking Punjabi flavored title track.

Though its subject is the same old one pursued in an umpteen number of stories in the past. Shaad Randhawa, Aarti Chabbria, Samir Dattani and Shama Sikander have done excellently well. The movie is as good as its tagline suggests!
