Shahrukh Khan doesn’t want advice of Rehman Malik

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s name has been pulled into a controversy after Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik demanded that India should provide security to the actor. This came out after Shahrukh wrote a first person account of what it means to be a Muslim post 9/11 and what problems are faced by Indian Muslims.

He wrote this for a special edition of outlook turning points publications on what it means to be Khan in India. Rehman Malik was quoted saying Shahrukh was born Indian and he would like to remain in Indian but I will request the Government of India to please provide him security.

Breaking his silence in cross boarder issue, Shahrukh Khan finally issued a statement to the media. He said in his defence, “The reason primarily is, I think some of the people not even read it and are reacting to the comments of the people who in turn also not read it, so I request you all to first read it. Second if you read it or have read it, nowhere does the article state or imply directly or indirectly that I feel unsafe, troubled or disturb in my country India, it does not even vaguely say that I am ungrateful for the love that I have received in the career spanning 20 years, on the contrary the article only says that in spite to bigoted thoughts of some of the people that surround us I am untouched by the skepticism because of the love I have received by my country men and women.
I would like to tell all those who are offering me unsolicited mysteries advice that we in India are extremely safe and happy, we have an amazing democratic and secular way of life, we have no safety issues regarding life or material, as a matter of fact it is ugsome for me to clarify this non existing issue, so do not please sensationalize matter of national interest and religion any further and drag a movie actor in middle of it at all and let me get back to doing at what I do the best that is making movies”.

Well what do you think about this issue? Should Shahrukh Khan be indeed given security by the Government after what Rehman Malik has said.
