Judges selected 8 bands in Pepsi Battle of the Bands episode 2 (Auditions)

The auditions continue through the second episode as more and more talented bands tried their luck. While it may be a tough call, the judges’ panel (including Fawad Khan, Meesha Shafi and Farooq Ahmed) has to mutually decide upon the top bands who will qualify to battle it out in the main rounds.

 

The first band that performs is called “Ehl-E-Rock” it is a group of four, Noman Butt is on drums, Saad plays Guitar, Waqar is a lead vocalist and Waleed Mazhar plays bass.

 

The name of the band is not just a name but it is an ideology and it was produced in 2009 by these four guys, Ehl-E-Rock’s main genre is hard rock. They have already released an English music album, but they prepared Urdu song especially for BoB, it was a pretty big challenge for them and they worked really hard on it.

 

The judges seemed to enjoy the song and they appreciated the band also said that they have the potential and can do a lot more. The judges loved the performance.

Ready, set, go. Yes, the bands are back! Let’s start off with some fangirling because seeing musical powerhouses Meesha Shafi and Fawad Khan judging the BoB Auditions Round with Farooq Ahmed from Aaroh as guest judge was the best thing we have seen on television in a long time. Getting into the groove, they showed us that they are committed to bring new talent to the forefront. They know what they are doing. Honest in their critique, this lot doesn’t waver from saying it how it is! Battle of the Bands has the star quality, musical variation and energetic live performances to become a regular fixture in honing emerging talent nationwide. It manages to breathe life into all our favorite music moments with just the right dash of nostalgia and a contemporary twist.

Ali Noor, the man who needs no introduction seems to be in Karachi and we can’t help but wonder why. Amongst many other, in this particular Vlog he’s seen dropping hints and prepping for an all new exciting project that he claims will be unfolded and announced as the Vlog progresses. The man of the hour in this episode is none other than the amazing, Ahsan Pervaiz – one of the members of an old Pakistani band called Seige whose song titled Na Jaane Kyun went viral years ago. Ahsan and Ali are seen jamming together on an upbeat and groove based song with minimal instruments and hard rock music involved.
