Sanjay Dutt sentenced to 5 years jail



The Supreme Court of India upheld actor Sanjay Dutt’s conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blast case and sentenced him to 5 years of jail.

Initially it was the punishment of 6 years but SC reduced his sentence from 6 years to 5 years. Sanjay Dutt who have already served 18 months in jail in past will now have to stay for another 3 years and 6 months.

The actor was accused of illegal possession of weapons including AK 56 assault rifle and a pistol. He was one of the high profile people among many who were found associated with the blasts of 1993.

The news is confirmed by the lawyer of Sanjay Dutt, he quoted “Sanjay told me, I have accepted the judgment as it is”.

Bollywood industry is shocked with the verdict of the court that has sentenced actor Sanjay Dutt to 5 years of imprisonment.
